2018 has been an absolute pleasure and I am incredibly excited for everything that awaits in the upcoming year. Thank you for a wonderful 2018 and cheers to 2019!
2018 was my first full year of running Penelope Peru Photography P³, with July 13th, 2018 marking the one year anniversary of the website.
If you are interested in seeing highlights from the year, head on over to Highlights of the Year // 2018!
In 2018, 717 posts were published to the website, with 116 of the posts published in February.
2018 also marked the start of Songs of the Month, as well as the art Instagram page and Etsy shop.
Throughout 2018, the website also averaged about 20,000 global visitors per month, according to One.com.
Running P³ has been nothing short of wonderful. Through my passion for photography, I have gotten to attend and capture so many incredible events.
Still, I’d have to say the highlight of my career as a photographer so far has been photographing the Total Solar Eclipse from Madras, OR in August of 2017.
Going Forward
With 2019, I had originally intended to completely reboot the P³ website. I had wanted to change the name to The Burgundy, and switched focus to posting more blogs, followed by a zine released at the end of each month.
However, redoing the P³ website would have meant a complete rebrand. I would have had to reformat the entire web page, rewrite content, as well as go through 1.6k posts and edit any internal links. Social media profiles, including the art Instagram page and Etsy shop, would have also been affected.
Switching domains would have also meant still having to keep penelopeperu.com as a redirect to burgundyzine.com, anyways.
Instead, I have made the decision to run them as two separate entities. The Burgundy Zine was established earlier in December 2018, with blogs already being posted regularly.
Throughout 2019, I plan to continue operating both websites. Blogs will regularly be posted to The Burgundy Zine, including a new series called Tune in Tuesdays, where I write about any music I’ve been listening to as well as any current events relevant to the music industry.
Weekly as well as monthly newsletters will be released from The Burgundy Zine – click here to subscribe!
The Burgundy Zine is also always looking for new contributors. If you are interested in having your writing, art, or anything else featured in a blog or upcoming issue of The Burgundy Zine, head on over to the submissions page.
I couldn’t be more excited for 2019. Stay tuned for more photography and art content on Penelope Peru Photography P³, and don’t forget to check out The Burgundy Zine!
Thank you again for an amazing year. Cheers to 2019!
